205, Bon Iver, and a sweater that She gave me
February 17, 2010
… 205, Bon Iver, and a sweater that She gave me was all I needed today. From the road I watched the fire crawl behind the trees, and a thousand birds scatter out around the glow; falsetto and a green sweater to keep me warm. I remember what it is I am here for today, I remember you and the divine struggle for the day to finally arrive.
Isaiah 43:3,4 reads,
“For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I give Egypt as your ransom,
Cush and Seba in exchange for you.
Because you are precious in my eyes,
and honored, and I love you,
I give men in return for you,
peoples in exchange for your life.”
Things that aren’t, Won’t
October 21, 2009
Speak slowly,
let the gears grind in silence.
All things that are,
Will be.
Make a face to anticipate it, swimming up to the surface,
but passageways are now too small.
Blood too thick to think.
Whatever things aren’t,
Won’t.
They won’t ever be.
