As We Were

July 23, 2011

I found an old, old disposable camera in my dresser dated for 2007.  Having no idea what was on it, I got it developed, hoping to find some “treasures”. Only 10 pictures on the roll came out; Here are 6 of them:

Turns out I took the little thing to Slovakia with me on a Spring break trip that year. It was my first time in Europe, and everything about that trip still holds a certain sentimental value for that reason. It was such a sweet place. If only more of that roll would have made it.

Not surprisingly, I’m a little late for a post meant to sum up last year’s happenings.  The past several weeks I have found myself unable to sit down and type out something that was worthy enough to portray what all has happened.  Even harder, was finding the time to edit all the photos I’d taken, seeing that a total of maybe 10 have been posted (lame).  Nevertheless, I’m determined to catch up, and this post is going to start the process.  Below you’ll find a few random shots, and later, maybe some more will show up…

A recap of this past year is surely incomplete without reference to my time spent in Central Asia.  As they often do, the months following a return from a summer away are spent scrambling for jobs and gas money, and little of my time is spent looking through pictures.  I plan to get them up for my own sake, and I’m hoping that scourging the folders and getting them up will bring back a somewhat accurate picture of my time there.

…And thank you to anyone (that would be you) that made it this far down the page.
More to come, I promise…

Whether because I was in an airport, or in Germany, I’m not sure – but McDonald’s is catching some trend elsewhere.

Lamb Bones and Noodles

June 18, 2010

… For 5 days and 5 nights this was family. On the third night, the man to the far right came to supper holding a single, rather large dinner plate. All seven of us eating from that single plate, he told us, meant we were now part of his family. What better plate of lamb bones and noodles could be eaten?
